13 Degrees Physical Therapy is a cash-based business that does not accept or bill your insurance.
If you desire to pursue reimbursement through your insurance on your own, a "superbill" can be provided to you after your session if requested.
Unfortunately, Medicare beneficiaries are not permitted to pay cash for medically necessary Medicare-covered PT services, but they can pay for non-covered services like general wellness and fitness (not injury related).
Once you're ready to begin your journey to wellness, I will meet you where you are - both physically and geographically!
After booking an appointment, you'll be contacted to arrange your preferred location for meeting.
Always respectful of your space, we'll just need a small area to set up the table. All needed tools and equipment will be brought - all you need to bring is your goals and motivation!
If more extensive equipment is needed, I am happy to accompany you to your gym for a more resistive training therapy session.
Payment will be collected at time of service. You'll receive a link via text/email to complete online payment.
During the initial evaluation, we will start by discussing the history of your symptoms, your goals, and any other relevant information.
Then I will examine your range of motion, strength, movement patterns, and any other applicable tests and measurements in order to best inform and create a tailored treatment plan for you.
We will review a initial home exercise program and perform any hands-on treatment as necessary.
Please dress in comfortable exercise clothing that will allow examination of the relevant body region.
Dry needling uses thin filiform needles of varying lengths depending on the size of the muscle and adjacent structures. It is used to decrease pain and muscle tension and desensitize the area as well as your nervous system.
The initial insertion can feel like a small pinch, and change to a dull deeper ache as the needle moves into the muscle belly. You usually stop feeling it after a few seconds.
Needles are usually left in place for 10-15 minutes, but can also be manipulated by pistoning or winding them to work at the muscle tissue better.
You may feel some soreness hours after the needling, but should resolve within 24-48 hours, such as after you exercise.
